And If They Were All Jumping Off A Cliff...

Since this seems to be the thing to do tonight, and since I must admit I have hit a small snag with the next part of Growing Pains... I hereby jump on the one word bandwagon!

Give me one word, and I'll give you one Doctor Who or Torchwood related sentence that relates to that word.

Join the insanity! :D

That shall be my word.

Jack watched the Doctor hit the TARDIS console with the mallet once more, as desperately and as futilely as ever, and contemplated telling the Time Lord about Einstein's definition of insanity.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein

Brilliant and perfectly the Doctor. ;)

Glad you liked it! :-)

I'll bite ;)

If there was a craft lacking more in grace and maneuvering ability than a passenger liner like the Titanic, the Doctor had never heard of it nor piloted it... but oh boy did it feel wonderful to miss crashing into yet another public monument in such ostentatious style!

LOL! Too true :) Love it

Glad you liked it! I read your word and the first image that popped into my mind was Ten desperately hanging off of that Captain's wheel and then laughing crazily as they pulled back up into the atmosphere. :-)

Ooh, you too! (and I'm getting to your word to me in a minute).

Okay, how about... Slipping.
Feb. 25th, 2008 05:31 am (UTC)
That particular word hits all he right plot bunny buttons, so you get two sentences. :-)

"You must be slipping," Rose said solemnly, swallowing a giggle and patting Jack's bare shoulder sympathetically.

angsty - either nine/rose or ten/martha or maybe even ten/donna if you squint...
It had been going so well, he'd kept so much of his darkness hidden from her, only to be blindsided by an impossible survivor from the wrong side of the war, and now she knew, now she was asking questions again, and it was too much, he couldn't face it and he couldn't not face her and his precious stability was starting to slip away and he was so scared...

Oh, Rose to Jack is hilarious :)

And the second one... *hugs the Doctor and chooses to believe it's Nine/Rose*
Feb. 26th, 2008 03:22 am (UTC)
I'd imagined Nine/Rose at first... and then realized that it was just as good for the other pairings. Poor Doc... he's not been having an easy time lately. (Though it occurs that one could stretch the idea to cover even Jack/Gwen...)

Glad you liked your sentences! :-)

Directed here by wendymr... Trees. :)

It was a ridiculous thing to miss, considering the monumental list of things he had to miss, but even as Rose waxed lyrical about the almost magical looking alien rainbow forest, all the Doctor could think was, "There should be silver ones, too."
Feb. 25th, 2008 04:10 pm (UTC)
Oh *sob* poor Doctor...
Feb. 25th, 2008 04:22 pm (UTC)
Even in these one word, one sentence things I can't stay away from the angst...
Feb. 25th, 2008 04:30 am (UTC)
*laughs* I just stole the thing from wendymr, too :-P

Feb. 25th, 2008 05:41 am (UTC)
Looking into Jack's eyes was like looking at a reflection of himself as a mere lad of one hundred and fifty relatively innocent years, and the Doctor found that it was easier than he thought it would be to push past the wrongness and find a friend who could understand what it was like to live for so long in a world of ephemeral loved ones.
Feb. 25th, 2008 06:22 am (UTC)
That was lovely! *smiles bigly widely*
Feb. 25th, 2008 06:36 am (UTC)
I'm glad you liked it! :-)
Feb. 26th, 2008 01:02 am (UTC)
Oh, I SO want that to be canon!
Feb. 26th, 2008 03:25 am (UTC)
Me, too!

If this was domestic... warm, fresh bagels and three young, laughing humans and a restful refueling stop in the otherwise unlikely town of Cardiff... well, then maybe domestic wasn't such a bad idea after all.
Feb. 26th, 2008 01:21 am (UTC)
Yay! Bagels are good :)
Feb. 26th, 2008 03:25 am (UTC)
Like bananas... :-)
Feb. 26th, 2008 03:29 am (UTC)
I actually was thinking that when I gave you the prompt. WE ARE DORKS. Yay

Adalia Zandra

This is adaliazandra's fic journal, which she hadn't planned to use very often. That plan has since been defenestrated in favor of posting fic update notices and rambles about DW and TW.

If you note the spiffy paid-account layout, that's because nightrider101 is simply the most wonderful person ever! :-)

If I seem to have disappeared off the face of the Internet, it's because I probably did. I don't actually *like* suddenly ignoring my LJ friends and leaving my stories hanging, though, so odds are I'll be back eventually.
