I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
Since May 7th I've been cheating on the Doctor Who fandom with something out of my geeky childhood. The new Star Trek movie ATE MY BRAIN. I've seen it FIVE TIMES and I'm already lining up the sixth and seventh. Yes, I wore a red t-shirt each time. (No, I haven't died yet.) Yes, I can talk for hours about every wonderfully geeky in-joke they put in the movie. (They even put in 47! That's Star Trek's version of 42, corrected for a few centuries of inflation.) Yes, I can recite THE WHOLE MOVIE as I watch it. Yes, I am insane. But oh, what wonderful insanity! Let me just put it this way: I am in love. The bad news, for me, is that one can not marry a movie. The good news, I think, is that I haven't had the slightest urge to write Trek fic. (Just read a whole lot of it.) That hopefully means that my Who muse is safe and will stick around.
Speaking of my Who muse, here's a short update on my current fics-in-progress:
1] The Support Stacie winner's fic for taffimai is almost fully plotted and about ready to get going. I expect good progress.
2] The Support Stacie bidding incentive fic for nightrider101 is still on a back burner, but I have some ideas for the prompt.
3] Veritas in Fabula is also fully plotted, and simply awaits a day when I have enough time to sit down and write it.
4] GP Who, as always, slowly grows in scope and depth the longer I refrain from actually writing any more of it. I keep adding things to my plot notes that make me jump up and down with squee, and meanwhile I also make slow progress on the music I hope to post with the story eventually. I really need to finish up my other commitments and then sit down and work on this project again.
Also, while I'm at it, here's an announcement of the best news I've had in a while: Today at 10am EST I officially graduate with my MS in Mathematics! ::does a huge, satisfied Happy Dance::
Now I'm off to pack my bags for a weekend trip to Vermont. I may or may not have any Internets while I'm there, but I'll have my laptop and hopefully some time to do some writing. :-)
